Posted: 13 Oct 2026
We’re proud to share some great news from VinFast India. On 9 October 2026, VinFast Auto India was named “EV Manufacturer of the Year” at the HT Auto Leaderboard Awards 2026, hosted by HT Auto, the automotive platform of the Hindustan Times.
The award recognises carmakers that are moving electrification forward not just through their vehicles, but through infrastructure, technology, service and long-term commitment to the Indian market.
More Than Just the Car
According to Tapan Ghosh, CEO of VinFast Asia, the brand’s approach in India has been to build a complete ecosystem around the vehicle: locally manufactured products, a growing sales and service network, financing, charging and ownership solutions designed around customers. HT Auto Editor Prashant Singh noted that VinFast has become a significant player in India’s EV space in a short time, pointing to its well-positioned portfolio, charging support and competitive pricing.
A Growing List of Awards
This latest honour adds to a strong year of recognition for VinFast in India:
- EV Manufacturer of the Year – Times Drive Auto Summit and Awards
- EV Champion of the Year – Jagran Hi-Tech Awards 2026
- Breakthrough Brand of the Year – Car&Bike Awards 2026
- EV SUV of the Year – Editor’s Choice for the VF 7 – BBC TopGear India Awards 2026
- Value for Money Car of the Year for the VF 6 – Autocar India Awards 2026
Built in India, Growing Across India
The VF 6, VF 7 and VF MPV 7 are all assembled locally at VinFast’s manufacturing facility in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. The VF MPV 7, launched in April 2026, was VinFast’s third model introduction in India within a year.
The dealer network is expanding quickly too. VinFast crossed 60 3S dealerships in August 2026 and is on track for 75 across India by the end of the year, reaching well beyond the metros into emerging cities like ours. VinFast Udaipur is proud to be part of that journey, bringing award-winning electric mobility to the City of Lakes and southern Rajasthan.
